Top 5 New Games Coming Out In November 2022
Hey guys! November 2022 is shaping up to be an incredible month for gaming. So many awesome titles are dropping, and I know my wallet is already crying. To help you navigate the avalanche of new releases, I've put together a list of the top 5 games I'm most hyped about. Get ready to mark your calendars!
1. God of War Ragnarök
Release Date: November 9, 2022
Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5
Okay, let's be real, was there ever any doubt this would be at the top of the list? God of War Ragnarök is the sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War (2018), which revitalized the franchise and introduced us to a whole new Kratos as a father figure. This time around, Kratos and Atreus are facing the prophesied Ragnarök, the end of the world in Norse mythology. We'll be traveling to all nine realms, battling gods and monsters, and unraveling the mysteries surrounding Atreus's true identity.
The combat looks even more brutal and refined than before, with new weapons, abilities, and enemy types to master. The story promises to be an emotional rollercoaster, exploring the complex relationship between Kratos and Atreus as they navigate dangerous and uncertain times. Seriously, the trailers have been epic, and the hype is REAL. I'm expecting this to be a Game of the Year contender, without a doubt. Santa Monica Studio has consistently delivered high-quality experiences, and God of War Ragnarök looks to be their most ambitious project yet. I'm particularly excited to see how they expand upon the lore and mythology of the Norse world, and how they continue to develop the characters we've grown to love. Pre-loading this one ASAP!
2. Sonic Frontiers
Release Date: November 8, 2022
Platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC
Alright, so Sonic Frontiers is taking the Blue Blur in a bold new direction: open-world gameplay! Sonic is venturing into the Starfall Islands, a mysterious and visually stunning landscape filled with ancient ruins and strange creatures. Instead of the traditional linear levels, you'll be able to explore a vast world, complete challenges, solve puzzles, and battle enemies in any order you choose. I'll be honest, I was skeptical at first, but the more I see of Sonic Frontiers, the more intrigued I become. The combat system looks fast and fluid, and the open-world environments seem to offer plenty of opportunities for exploration and discovery.
The story revolves around Sonic and his friends getting separated on the Starfall Islands, and he must unravel the mysteries of the ancient civilization that once inhabited them. It's a huge gamble for Sega, but if they can pull it off, Sonic Frontiers could be the game that finally modernizes the Sonic franchise and brings it back to its former glory. The open-world formula has worked wonders for other franchises, and maybe Sonic can benefit from the same treatment. I'm definitely curious to see how this one turns out, and I'm hoping it lives up to the potential. This game is what I'm most curious about this holiday season, the change of pace could be what sonic needs.
3. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
Release Date: November 18, 2022
Platforms: Nintendo Switch
Gotta catch 'em all… in a brand new region! Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are the latest installments in the long-running Pokémon franchise, and they're introducing a fully open-world experience for the first time ever. You'll be able to explore the Paldea region, a vibrant and diverse land inspired by the Iberian Peninsula, without any set paths or story progression. Choose your own adventure, discover new Pokémon, and battle trainers at your own pace. I'm a huge Pokémon fan, and I'm incredibly excited about the open-world aspect of these games. It's going to be so much fun to just wander around, discover hidden areas, and encounter Pokémon in their natural habitats.
Plus, Scarlet and Violet are introducing a bunch of new Pokémon, including the legendary Pokémon Koraidon and Miraidon, which can transform into rideable vehicles. The Terastal Phenomenon is another new mechanic, which allows Pokémon to crystallize and change their types. The story seems to revolve around attending a prestigious academy and embarking on a treasure hunt. With cooperative multiplayer, you and your friends can explore the Paldea region together. This looks to be a really unique adventure with familiar faces in an entirely new world, something that should be celebrated. I'm ready to dive in and become the very best, like no one ever was!
4. Pentiment
Release Date: November 15, 2022
Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC
Okay, now for something completely different. Pentiment is a narrative adventure game developed by Obsidian Entertainment, the studio behind Fallout: New Vegas and The Outer Worlds. Set in 16th-century Bavaria, you play as Andreas Maler, a journeyman artist working in a scriptorium. When a murder occurs in the town, Andreas becomes embroiled in the investigation and must uncover the truth behind the crime. Pentiment is presented in a unique art style inspired by illuminated manuscripts and woodcut prints. The gameplay focuses on dialogue choices, investigation, and puzzle-solving.
The story is heavily influenced by historical events and religious conflicts of the time period. It's a departure from Obsidian's typical RPG fare, but it looks like a fascinating and thought-provoking experience. I'm always drawn to games that explore historical settings and offer meaningful choices. Pentiment seems to be aiming for a more intimate and personal story, focusing on the lives of ordinary people caught up in extraordinary circumstances. If you're looking for something different and unique, Pentiment might be the game for you. This game is bound to be a great narrative.
5. Goat Simulator 3
Release Date: November 17, 2022
Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC
Yes, you read that right. Goat Simulator 3 is actually happening. Despite there never being a Goat Simulator 2, the chaotic and hilarious goat simulation is back. This time around, you can explore a vast open world, cause mayhem with your friends in multiplayer, and unlock a ridiculous amount of customization options for your goat. If you enjoyed the original Goat Simulator, then you know what to expect: utter chaos and absurd physics. Goat Simulator 3 seems to be taking things to a whole new level, with even more opportunities for destruction and silliness.
Honestly, sometimes you just need a game that doesn't take itself too seriously, right? Goat Simulator 3 is the perfect antidote to all the serious, story-driven games out there. It's pure, unadulterated fun. Gather your friends, unleash your inner goat, and prepare for some ridiculous shenanigans. Who doesn't like playing as a goat and causing utter destruction? It's a cathartic experience, to say the least. Just make sure your neighbors don't hear you laughing too hard. With its improved graphics, expanded world, and enhanced multiplayer, Goat Simulator 3 is poised to be the goatiest game of the year. Prepare for udder chaos!
